Katja Moritz is a painter born in the South of Austria. She lives and works in Vienna.

Her paintings are expressive and multi-layered. Rich in color and depth, the artist's daily observations are reflected in most of her work. These visual collections as well as her personal experiences and interests find appearance on the canvas, often in fictional characters and vague storytelling of them and their environment. 

She expresses emotion and explores connections to literature, theater, places, and myths. She creates somewhat cryptical stories with a strong, honest and raw feeling.
